NEW YORK—Bestselling comic book illustrator Jim Lee and The New York Times bestselling murder mystery writer Brad Meltzer have been named New York Comic-Con Guests of Honor.
Lee and Meltzer will be among the many creators representing DC Comics at the first ever New York City Comic-con convention, a new trade and consumer event for comics, games, anime and other related industries that will take place February 24th – 26th, 2006 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in Manhattan.
More on the DC Comics front: Meltzer has signed an exclusive contract with DC to write for DC Comics. Meltzer’s Identity Crisis was the bestselling comic book title of 2004, when it was originally published in the traditional monthly comic book format. Meltzer is also known as the author of the The New York Times bestselling novels The Tenth Justice, Dead Even, The First Counsel, The Millionaires and The Zero Game.
Lee is the creative director of DC Comics’ WildStorm Studios (which he founded in 1992) and the penciller for many of DC Comics’ comic book and graphic novels including All Star Batman and Robin, The Boy Wonder, Batman: Hush, and Superman: For Tomorrow.
