Went to Jay and Silent Bob's secret stash this weekend....worse comic shop next to phoenix of course..
1)Items on the website not available in stores.......bullfecal advertise Kevin Smith signature on the web $10.00 in store $25.00
2)small, barely any back issues, dark needs better lighting and too much room dedicated to the Jay and Silent Bob movies for such a small store.
3)I'm not a stickler for condition but the way they display new comics(small selection,by the way)it would be impossible to get a mint copy of a comic two days old.
4)Rack the prices up for all I can tell this was the only comic book store in the area.
5Kick ass T-shirts

Phoenix Comics is in Fairfax county VA - suburb of Washington DC, its one of the finest and busiest comic book stores in the world, please don't confuse it with any other store.

the guy kinda looks like comic book guy but I haven't been there in a while, when you got drug dealers and prostitutes standing out in front of the store ya really don't feel safe buying your comic books. Plus you guys order a hell of alot more issues than them so I get what I want.

You mean drug dealers and prostitutes are not good for business.
I thought that place closed a couple of years ago.
Its really pathetic what downtown W-B is like, sadly I can't see it changing any time soon. Why any business would be located there is beyond me, unless they cater to the drug dealers and prostitutes, so razor blades and antibiotics are probably huge sellers.

I believe it should've closed years ago. It's on South main street (next to a clothes store that got busted for cocaine distribution, a pawn shop, a tatoo parlor that got busted cause the artist molested little girls, and a strip club, it's a very family oriented place to take the children for their spider-man fix. It's basically a hole in the wall, since I started coming to essential there has been no reason for me to go to Wilkes-Barre city.

Ah, last I knew that place was on North Main St in W-B by the Times Leader and a used CD store, figured the owner just closed the place when he bought the model company, maybe he sold the store to the chicken wing guy. I know that's what happened to Cap's Comics, I remember Cap's used to advertise on local TV during Star Trek, last year after over 20 years the store was sold to someone else, and the new owner didn't even last a year.
Of course our last store was just a hole in the wall, well several holes in the ceiling/roof at least, but that's all changed now

Well at least it changed for the better, changing for the worst can't be good for business but I think Phoenix gets most of their business from the college kids.
