Nope, today is June 29, June 3 was 26 days ago, so unless you have a time machine you will not be able to come in on June 2 and get the free comic books.

Did everyone enjoy FCBD? I was surprised with the quality of some of the books especially the hero bear stuff. Some of it was straight garbage though too much stuff for the younger set.

Well, the younger set wasn`t complaining. I like that is geared towards getting younger readers into comic books, pretty much the whole point of FCBD. Anywho, we had a great time doing. Made channel 16 news and some news print articles. I will have a few pics from the day up soon! Adam

I look at FCBD as more of a chance for some of the independent publishers to get there name out I mean I wouldn't have bought any of those titles but now I cna see myself actually getting a few different titles that I might have missed out on.

Free Comic Book Day will certainly up the sales on some of the smaller press titles.
The biggest problem is rack space, there just isn't enough space in any store to display all the great titles available today. We try to always rack titles from Oni, Slave Labor, Drawn & Quartley, Fantagraphics, Top Shelf, Alternative, Digital Webbing, and yes even Avatar.
Just remember there is much more out there than what you see from Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, Archie, Gemstone, Dream Wave, and Devil's Due, saddly Cross Gen is probably no longer with us
The best thing for a reader to do is always look through the Previews catalog and if you see anything you like order it.
Smaller press publishers would be wise to implement and take advantage of overship programs as its probably the only way some books will ever make it on the shelf at the local comic book store.

That is another upside to FCBD, for sure. Even with the books that were dropped, I think it was still a decent selection. Can`t wait till next year!

Turn the Love Flights book over, you'll find its a flip book with a story by Greg Rucka.
American Power is the book you're thinking of written by Chuck Dixon and was to be published by Cross Gen. Cross Gen's current financial problems prohibited them from supporting FCBD this year - Sad

CrossGen isn't done yet, but they have filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which if the court approves CrossGen will still be able to continue to operate with out having the pay their creditors - This is only allowed when it looks like the company will be able to pull through and eventually be able to pay their creditors, otherwise its Chapter 7 and everything will be liquidated to try and pay the creditors.

I don't think they would pull through they already cut their line of comics, released most of their contracted creators I mean I've seen companies go under and this is what it looks like.
